Painting Update!

Sometime last week I was able to finish up the first 5 of my Deathwing Knights and I just wanted to take the time and post them. Here is a group shot:

More pictures after the break!

I really like how these guys came out. I also am proud how I approached their faces. I was having a hell of a time trying not to mark their hoods with their face color, but I would always screw it up. So eventually I painted an upside down black V on them. That way it looks like most of their faces are in the shadows of their hood. I left the Knight Master's bionic eye red still, so it looks like it is peering from the shadows. Also with the Relic holder instead of using the Army Painter Quickshade on it I actually spray painted it bleached bone, then used a brown wash, and finally dry brushed bleached bone back on top of it. So it is kind of my first "non-cheating" painted model. The only downside is I didn't give the sword an actual wash so it looks kind of plain. Regardless, overall I'm really happy with this batch and need to start working on the others. But with finals right around the corner that will have to wait for another day.
